Scene opens with Larry picking up the telephone
Larry: Hi God its me Larry Girard here. I just wanted to phone and talk to
you again. I talked to you last week about
Oh wait first I want to
thank you for the great day, so as I was saying I had a list of thinks I
was talking to you about
Oh hang on there before I get to that again
I want to ask you for forgiveness. So like I was saying I was talking
to you last week and I asked you whether I should buy the Chrysler
mini van or the Chevy van. Oh by the way if you could see to it that I
get the raise in pay I was asking for. If I get the raise I will take it as
a sign that you want me to buy the Chevy. You know God I have
called you the last seven weeks and talked to you about this, so I hope
to have the raise soon. Goodbye.
Phone rings
Larry: Hello
Joan: Hi Larry. How are you?
Larry: Good I guess, how are you?
Joan: Good. I tried calling you earlier, but your line was busy.
Larry: Oh that's right, I was talking to God
Joan: So what did he have to say.
Larry: No I said I was talking to God
Joan: Wait
I don't understand. Right now you are talking with me.
Larry: That's right
Joan: But you only talk to God.
Larry: That's right
Joan: Ask me a question, any question.
Larry: Ok what time is it ?
click followed by dial tone
Larry: Hello Hello!
Phone rings
Larry: Hello
Joan: Hi Larry why don't you come over and we can talk about the
difference between talking to God and talking with him. I'll be here
all morning.
Larry: All right , see you in a bit. Bye
Joan: Great see you later
