Scene opens with Cabbie driving , after a minute or so reaches over and turns on radio, starts to move head with the music and then breaks out in song, doing his best Bing Crosby rendition of White Christmas.
"I'm dreaming of a White Christmas, with every Christmas card I write, may your days be merry and bright .and I can't believe I'm singing another Christmas song tonight."
(Reaches over and turns radio off and continues driving , after a minute or so of driving he stamps on the brake and yells.)
" Who! Why can't people learn to drive in this town? Green means go , red's stop and yellow means put the peddle to the metal to make the light. Patience is what we need I wish people had a little more patience and common sense, sure I'm a cabbie and sure people are Christmas shopping but someone tell me how I was expected to get Aunt Junes stair master in this car .. Uncle Rod's canoe was trouble enough. Patience, I wish I had a little more myself . What a day, lots of fairs, lots of parcels. Everyone trying to get the perfect gift. Trying to get what little Billy or Mary are wishing for. I sure wished for a lot today. Just now I wished for patience. I wished for the perfect fare, for all green lights, for a good cup of coffee and a fresh donut, and now patience. I wonder what it would have been like 3000 years ago when God told King Soloman he could wish for anything he wanted. Or to think about what it would have been like 2000 years ago when everyone was waiting for the Messiah. Waiting, watching and wishing he would come. Oh, almost missed my turn, just about home. . (continues to drive) I wonder if those wise men missed their turn. If they had gone West instead of East they would have been there on time and not a couple of years later. I wish I was there when he was born. . .. No I'd probably be driving some smelly camel ..No I still wish I could have been there.(longer pause as he continues to drive, then stops and throws it into park) Oh for a little more wisdom (reflective pause, gets out closes the door and walks off)
