Time For Thanks

Props to include kitchen table, pitcher of water , glass, vase with some real flowers , bowl of fruit, photo of child, loaf of French bread or similar.

Scene opens with jogger running in to church. Jogs up middle aisle then slows to a walk.
I see a brief stretch at this time to show that this is more than running into church. Try to appear short of breath for first few lines.

Lori: "Whew, what a great day for a run. What a great city for a run, I mean those trails
are so great. Running by the lake is so peaceful I get a chance to really get to
know myself. A half hour to myself. I'll have to ask myself one time why I
always think out loud."

Pours a glass of water and has a swallow

Lori: "Now that's refreshing"

God: "Your welcome"

The voice of God is heard by all but apparently not by Lori

Lori leans over and has a sniff of the flowers

Lori: "Ah, beautiful"

God: "Your welcome"

Again the voice of God is heard by all but apparently not by Lori. This continues through out the script.

Lori breaks a piece of bread and has a bite

God: "Your welcome"

Lori then picks up an apple and just kind of ponders it while swallowing the bread. So there is a pause before the next line.

God: "Your welcome"

Lori: "Oh I've got to phone Sue and invite her to go running with me next time…(small
pause) She's such a good friend"

God: "Your welcome"

Lori: " Or maybe I could run with my children next time"

Picks up photo, kisses fingers then touches them to photo.

God: "Your welcome"

Lori: " I've got so much to be thankful for, and yet I seldom do say Thank you. I know
God deserves so much thanks for all he has blessed me with. There are so many
small things that I should just thank him for. I know he would love to
hear 'Thank You' come from my lips. Dear Lord thank you for the birds that
were singing when I was on my run. I have to go back to the lake and breath it
all in again with a eye open and a mind and heart open to say thank you."

Lori could now exit the way she came in only she would go out on a brisk walk.

Or you could end it like

Lori: " I've got so much to be thankful for, and yet I seldom do say Thank you. I know
God deserves so much thanks for all he has blessed me with. There are so many
small things that I should just Thank him for. I know he would love to
hear 'Thank You' come from my lips…. Oh! Look at the time I better go have my
shower!"

Lori picks up a towel from one of the chairs and exits
